Birmingham Fashion Week (BFW) is the city’s flagship fashion event, a highly anticipated showcase featuring runway shows, industry expert panels, art exhibitions and more. As we champion local talent, we are making strides to boost Birmingham’s creative economy, creating lasting opportunities for growth, collaboration, and innovation within the city’s vibrant fashion and arts sectors.
We launched Birmingham’s first ever fashion weekend in 2023
Year 1 (2023): Launched during black history month, BFW was two days of runway shows, an art gallery, masterclasses and popup shops.
Year 2 (2024): Building on its success, BFW welcomed over 500 visitors and featured 15 Birmingham-based sustainable designers. We also expanded our youth programs, offering work experience and internships to 45 young people across the Midlands.

Why BFW? The mission of BFW is threefold: to spotlight and celebrate the rising stars of the creative realm, to elevate Birmingham onto the global stage, and to drive an economic boost within the local fashion sector. By providing a crucial stepping stone for emerging talent, BFW offers designers and artists the opportunity to gain visibility, connect with fashion buyers, and generate sales — not only from individual clients but also from industry professionals. Through this, BFW encourages growth within the city’s creative economy while positioning Birmingham as a vibrant hub for fashion innovation.
We are also proud to be working with individuals from all backgrounds, some with physical disabilities, some from disadvantaged backgrounds and a host of innovative trend setters representing BRUM.
We cannot forget the many benefits of BFW – work experience and internships. Read more about our work experience opportunities here.
